I have been eyeing these online for awhile, in this particular print (sound wave). So imagine my surprise when, upon completing a grueling inversion workshop this weekend, I found them on the sale rack at my studio! It was like the universe rewarding me for my hard work. You can find them HERE.
If you follow my blog, you know about my dissatisfaction with the yoga gear available on the market (in particular the $100+ a pop Lululemon cult!). I am ever on the quest for finding gear I love, is functional & that I am excited to wear. These are so fun & flattering. I am super picky & here, again, is my criteria:
My perfect yoga pant must be…
1. …in the $50 or below range
2. …mid-calf to full-length (so I don’t slip during sweaty inversions & arm balances)
3. …low, wide waistband
4. ..sweat-camouflaging (to hide the ever-flattering crack sweat that is inevitable during heated vinyasa)
6. …and most importantly pass the see-through bend test when I’m spread into prasarita!
I love Onzie because it was developed by a long-time yogi & is super versatile (sweaty yoga? spinning? swimming? running? surfing? Check!). They are affordable (especially when you nab them on sale!). Oh, and they’re local!
"At Onzie our philosophy is ‘keep your practice challenging, and your wardrobe simple!’ In keeping with the principle of being inclusive, rather than exclusive, Onzie is affordably-priced and suitable for all activities and practices. Onzie products are made with love in southern California.

Onzie yoga gear is perfect for hot yoga, but can also be used for pilates, spinning, swimming, surfing, running or hooping. Our clothes can be worn as everyday wear or into chlorine and salt water environments. You can transition in and out of yoga postures as seamlessly as you can the rest of your day. So embrace the awareness of your being, sense your core, and feel secure. Focus on your strength and beauty.”
"Established in 2010, Pret-à-Surf is the brainchild of Jillian Demling, entertainment editor at Vogue, and Karen Mulligan, studio manager and agent for Annie Leibovitz. Longtime best friends, the two women are lovers of water sports but found themselves wincing at the athletic clothing options available to them. Out of this realization was born a surf and swim line for the active woman who wants to look good while playing and competing. Ready-to-wear has become ready-to-surf.”
The Pret-à-Surf for J.Crew collection mixes stripes, polka dots, and even butterflies on bikinis, shorts, and rashguards that easily transition from the beach to the street. The 11-piece collection ranges in price from $150-$210.”
