I love this project, Jewelry for a Cause. I am jonesing for a set of their mala beads (pictured). I have been looking for some to use in my practice & it makes it even sweeter that these benefit such a good cause.
Like traditional malas, each In Gratitude necklace has 108 beads and are made from crushed paper and barkcloth. Each are hand wrapped and strung and the colors come from natural plant dye. No two are the same. Your purchase helps the women of Uganda create a sustainable and dignified source of income for their families and communities.
I also love their Caliber Collection, which takes serial numbers from illegal guns & metal from bullet cases taken off the streets by the Newark Police Dept. Proceeds benefit Gun Buyback Amnesty programs.
'Hamsa' comes from the Hebrew word for five & is an ancient symbol believed to ward off the evil eye. I picked up a simple adjustable cord bracelet at a little market in sf & I have been very superstitious about it lately.
Shark Tooth Pavé Necklace by C. Wonder
C. Wonder was created by Tory Burch’s ex-husband. The brand has a lot of similarities at a lower price point. I find the whole nasty-ex knock-off situation a turn-off, but I did happen to peruse the newly opened shop & came out with this necklace, which I love.
