Available HERE | Michael Pollan is one of my favorite food authors & philosophers. His writing & ideas are not only brilliant, but engaging & accessible. He does an incredible job of connecting individual to global, addressing not just personal health & well-being, but environment benefits of eating well. Looking forward to this read & to recommitting to cooking a plant-based diet at home & being connected to my food. NYT Book Review HERE. See more below:
‘Hamsa’ comes from the Hebrew word for five & is an ancient symbol believed to ward off the evil eye. I picked up a simple adjustable cord bracelet at a little market in sf & I have been very superstitious about it lately.
Just pre-ordered Sheryl Sandberg’s new book ‘Lean In’ (iTunes | Amazon | Powell’s). Love strong women & moms in business! Available March 11. She will also be launching the Lean In organization to support women in reaching their goals. Join the community on the website or Facebook. Listen to Sheryl discuss what’s holding women back HERE via NPR & be inspired.
FINALLY finished ‘The Marriage Plot’ by Jeffrey Eugenides. What to read next…so many on my list.
Watched Kathryn Bigelow’s new film, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, about the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Tense & gripping. I would watch anything with Jessica Chastain.
Downtown Abbey is back with Season 3 premiere tonight, quite right! And it’s been invaded by the feisty matriarch & American heiress, Shirley MacLaine. MacLaine & counterpart Maggie Smith steal the show. I am already loving the fashion this season. I don’t really get into television, but my New Year’s resolution was to watch more TV ;) I was able to get up to speed on seasons 1 & 2 thanks to Netflix & Amazon Prime! If you missed the Season 3 premiere, you can watch the first episode HERE via PBS.
